The Pattern

Hook:
Partridge K12ST, GRS15ST, 15BN, or 15BNX sizes 6 to 20
(The large sizes I use for Grilse, Arctic Grayling and Sea Trout)

Thread:  Uni-thread 8/0, grey or tan for the body and Danville Spiderweb for the parachute hackle.

Body:  Extra fine Fly Rite poly dubbing No.19 or 20, for the larger dressings like 8-16, for the more smaller sizes 18-20, I mainly use Wapsi Super Fine waterproof dry fly dubbing, Light tan colour, similar or any colour of choice to match the hatch.

Wing Post:  Wapsi Poly-yarn for normal size and larger flies, Niche silicone yarn for the smaller flies.

Thorax:  Peacock herl, two or three strands depending on the size of fly, the larger the size the more Peacock herl.

Hackle:  Good quality cock hackle, long enough to provide enough turns.  Colour to combine well with the body.  Blue dun, chestnut brown or light ginger.
